As Painlessly as Possible...
Sad but true, you can't give grants without funds, and our funds
come from you, our contributors. There are many deserving organizations
competing for your contribution, ours exists to directly affect your
child's education experience. Our long-term strategy for minimizing the
impact of fund raising is to build a self-sustaining endowment that can
fund the annual grants. Our short-term plan is to come to you twice
a year with the Gala and Phoneathon, and to leave the door open with
our direct contribution programs.
LEEF appreciates your gifts, large or small. Your
thoughtfulness and generosity will mean so much to your children, their
teachers and schools.
Gala and Auction
The annual LEEF Gala is held each fall. It's a fun evening for adults,
with a themed dinner, music, live and silent auction and more.
The 2006 Gala is was held Saturday, November 18th, and again
the event was a big success on several levels. The food was excellent,
the musical entertainment was outstanding and a good time was had by all.
But the bottom line is the Gala raised (drum roll...) $50,000 for
Longmeadow schools!
School & Town Resource Guide
Announcing the first annual School & Town Resource Guide. The guide will
provide all the information you could ever want or need about our schools
and our town. Our intent is to have this guide become a staple for every
household in Longmeadow.
The publication of the guide is paid for through advertisements purchased
by local businesses. Advertisement revenue beyond the costs of publication will
benefit LEEF's grant fund - and ultimately the Longmeadow schools.
If you have a local business, please join your fellow business associates by
purchasing an ad to support our children and ensure the continued quality of
the education offered by our schools.
The 2006 Guide has been published and distributed to every household in
Longmeadow. Our group of volunteers worked for 10 weeks contacting advertisers
and printing the Guide. Their efforts raised $33,000 for Longmeadow
schools.
We are very greatful to the volunteers and the businesses that participated this year,
and we look forward to producing an even more successful 2007 Guide next fall.

Phonathon
Every spring, a group of parent volunteers gets together to ask the
citizens of Longmeadow for contributions via phone. It's easy to
do as a volunteer, and easy to do as a contributor. If a member of
the Phonathon committee asks for your help, please join us. If
you get a call during the Phonathon, it's probably a neighbor calling -
please donate.
Direct Contribution
For those who prefer giving more directly, we have a few programs we hope
will appeal:
Tributary Giving allows you to
honor a loved one or mark an occasion with a tribute.
Honor Thy Teacher provides an
opportunity to donate to LEEF in honor of a teacher or administrator who has
been an inspiration to you or a family member.
Levels of Giving is the simplest
of all. A great way for a business or individual to contribute to LEEF and
receive the recognition you deserve. All donors are listed in our report,
recognizing cumulative gifts in our calendar year January 1, 2006 to December
31. 2006.
Forms for participating in these programs can be found on the
Contribute Now page.
